Massive Batman feature in this month's TOTAL FILM – with exclusive TDKR pics and news on the Batman reboot!
This month, Total Film launched their new look iPad edition of the magazine and I love it. Its simple to use, has no adverts and looks gorgeous with animated pages and easily accessible trailers and exclusive videos.
I've already mentioned before how, despite owning one since its release, the iPad still feels like i'm holding the future in my hands and the new look Total Film IS the way magazines should be read on the iPad. It's that damn good.
The new edition is on sale on the newsstand app at the awesome price of £1.99 (from £3.99) and I urge you to give it a try, you won't be disappointed! The magazine is also available in print at all the usual retailers. With exclusive interviews with the cast and pics from The Dark Knight Rises and a massive feature on the history of the Bat-Films it's a must for every Bat-Fan out there.
The Dark Knight Rises is going to be the last time Christian Bale dons the cape and cowl and he talks about the journey of Bruce Wayne as a character and the challenges he has to face in the new film. Plot details are understandably water tight but there are also great interviews with Anne Hatheway (Catwoman) and Tom Hardy (Bane) about how they prepared for their roles.
There is also news on the inevitable Batman reboot that WILL be happening after Nolan's trilogy reaches it's epic conclusion – and it's promising news. As we know, Nolan has his hand in the new Man of Steel film from Zak Snyder and it has been confirmed that the reboot for Batman (more than likely along with Wonder Woman for a JLA film) will be been produced by Nolan and his wife Emma Thomas (producer of all three of his films). No news on a director yet, but a few names are thrown around, most interestingly Christopher Nolan's screenwriter brother Jonathan (who wrote the script for The Dark Knight and Rises). So it's pretty safe to say the franchise is in good hands and won't be returning to ridiculous Bat-nipples anytime soon.
My question is: Who would you like to see pick up the mantle of the Bat next?
Personally I'd quite like to see Dylan McDermott from TV's American Horror Story take the role, I really think he'd be great at showing the duality between Bruce and Batman and he certainly has the look for both…
TOTAL FILM iPad edition and the in-print magazine is available now.
