Andy Pettitte made his much-anticipated return to the Yankees, getting lavished with adoration at Yankee Stadium while pitching into the seventh inning despite giving up a pair of two-run homers in New York's 6-2 loss to the Seattle Mariners.

Mariano Rivera's unfortunate injury reminded me just how much I've enjoyed watching the Yankees over the years. The team may not feel the same to me on that.
