Actress Eva Longoria, who also serves as an Obama campaign co-chair, has sparked a major controversy with a recent post on Twitter. Longoria apparently re-tweeted a message from one of her followers that read:
“I have no idea why any woman/minority can vote for Romney. You have to be stupid to vote for such a racist/misogynistic tw**.”
Longoria quickly took the tweet off her timeline, but not before drawing fire from both sides of the aisle. The actress blamed the re-tweet on Twitter, writing, “Is anyone else’s twitter bugging out? There are things in my timeline I didn’t retweet today. Hmmm? Standby trying to fix!”
While not a direct apology, she did eventually tweet, “For the record I have never personally called any conservative women stupid. I think u are all beautiful and strong and smart!”
