3 FILM ROLES THAT WOULD BE PERFECT FOR SARAH - PIXEL51

Sarah Michelle Gellar in VERONIKA DECIDES TO DIE (2009) – the film has been released everywhere but the UK, US, and Canada. It was recently on Australian TV.

Sarah Michelle Gellar has not done a flim since she was Veronika Deklava in VERONIKA DECIDES TO DIE in 2009. And that film still hasn’t been released in the US. Here are three roles that would be perfect for her.

Jennifer Jason Leigh in Dorothy Parker and the Vicious Circle in 1991. The film focused on Parker’s early life.

ROLE #1 – DOROTHY PARKER

There really has not been a film specifically about Dorothy Parker. Jennifer Jason Leigh starred in MRS. PARKER AND THE VICIOUS CIRCLE in 1995, but that was really more about the so-called Algonquin Round Table of which Parker was a part. She turns up from time to time as a character in films about F.Scott Fitzgerald. This is a biopic waiting to happen.

ROLE #2 – V.I. WARSHAWSKI

Kathleen Turner’s portrayal of Warshawski did not meet with critical acclaim.

There are 12 V.I. Warshawski detective novels by Sarah Paretsky, as well as two collections of short stories. There has, thus far, been only one film, in 1991, with Kathleen Turner in the title role. Victoria Iphigenia Warshawski, Private Eye, is described as “a lean, athletic brunette who likes to keep in shape”. That sounds a lot like SMG.

Britt Robertson might be well suited to play the young Kendall Hart on film. Gellar could switch roles 20 years later and play Erica Kane.

ROLE #3 – ERICA KANE

Some enterprising screenwriter could easily take the story of the young Kendall Hart and turn it into a feature film. Gellar could play Erica Kane. The 16 year old Kendall might be played by Brit Robertson.

The story is compelling: At the age of 16, Kendall Hart discovers that she is adopted, and that her birth mother is the wealthy, charismatic Erica Kane. She conspires (successfully) to infiltrate Erica’s life. Once inside her new family, she simultaneously seeks revenge upon and affection from the mother who once abandoned her.

NOTE: A great many people may not have seen Sarah Michelle Gellar play Kendall Hart on ALL MY CHILDREN (from March, 1993 to July, 1995). The episodes are only now being posted, with anything without Gellar removed, on emiliaa’s channel on YouTube. Thus far, the first 50 Gellar episodes have been uploaded, and watching them has been quite an experience. This is some of Sarah Michelle Gellar’s best work.
