15 Things With a Longer Shelf Life Than a 'Bachelor' or ...

In honor of the not-even-slightly shocking split of Emily Maynard and Jef Holm (whose parents didn’t love him enough to give him the second f) of “The Bachelorette,” as well as equally expected break up of Ben Flajnik and Courtney Robertson of “The Bachelor,” I thought it would be a good idea to think about all the things with a longer shelf life than couples formed on this manufactured world of romance. And even that thought lasted longer than most relationships resulting from these two shows. But besides that idea, here’s 15 things that last longer than these “reality” show relationships.

1. A gallon of milk.

2. Hugh Hefner even without a dose of ExtenZe.

3. A thought in Paris Hilton’s head.

4. The section of an interview in which Tyra Banks does not talk about herself.

5. A Britney Spears marriage.

6. The amount of time in a week Christina Aguilera spends wearing actual pants.

7. Lindsay Lohan’s sobriety.

8. A pizza at the table of a bunch of “Biggest Loser” rejects.

9. The career of most contestants on “America’s Next Top Model.”

10. The career of most reality show contestants.

11. The amount of time a 25-year-old can spend away from their smartphone.

12. The amount of time someone can witness Anderson Cooper’s giggle and not turn into a ball of smiles and sunshine.

13. My tolerance for political attack ads.

14. My tolerance for idiots.

15. This blog post.

And just like that you have spent more time reading this blog than any “Bachelor” or “Bachelorette” couple has spent in their post-show relationship. Congrats! I would give you a rose if I was romantic – and ABC was paying for it.
